The medications are less expensive and also there is private health insurance policy to cover many of the health expenses. The rental rates of houses are slightly expensive in main areas and cities of the country. In Paris the monthly rate of an apartment is about $2500 per month approximately. Rents in other areas like peripheral areas are much less and cost up to $700 per month. Purchasing a property in France costs much less as compared to USA and UK. The cost of a house in rural area is approximately $60,000-70,000 and the cost of an apartment is approximately $100,000. The daily living expenses in France are higher, however; for US and UK citizens these still are lower as compared to their own home land. The tax policy in France has increased the prices on various items, including cloths, house hold utensils etc. The good thing is that majority of the expenses on health and education are born by the government, hence the things become affordable even though they are expensive. The expenses for one adult including meals, groceries, transportation etc would cost around $500 - 600 per month. That is why France has a low cost of living. The people of France are always co-operative, helpful and give warm welcome to the foreigners especially for US citizens.
